Richardson Oilseed, LTC.

Richardson Oilseed is one of Canada’s oldest and largest fully-integrated crushing, refining, processing and packaging operations. When it came time to provide significant production capacity, flexibility and automation additions at their Lethbridge (Alberta, Canada) canola oil processing and packaging plant, they selected Primus to provide design-build services.

Key aspects of the project include new bulk oil tanks and storage building, conversion of existing bulk storage tanks to blending tanks, addition of automated valve clusters for formulation and delivery of oil to fillers, new retail bottle fill line, new receiving warehouse and new finished product warehouse.

The new expansion and process modifications allowed Richardson Oilseed to double the ongoing bottling capacity while increasing manufacturing flexibility with the new valve clusters and flow boards. New process controls and HMIs were integrated into the existing Rockwell System.
