H.E.B. Grocery Company

H.E. Butt Grocery Company (H.E.B.) is one of the largest grocery chains in the United States with stores throughout Texas and in Mexico. When the firm chose to expand its distribution center in San Marcos, Texas, they selected Primus for the project.

The 150,000 SF expansion includes the installation of 15 new dock door positions. Approximately 30,000 SF involves a 58’-clear height area intended for crane-operated storage positions. The balance of the space is 45’ high storage protected by an ESFR fire protection system, eliminating the need for in-rack sprinkler protection.

The project also includes 12’ long fluorescent lighting, which provides required aisle lighting while consuming approximately 30% less energy than traditional lighting fixtures.
