Primus provided turn-key design and construction management services on this 51’ tall, 312,000 SF cold storage distribution facility in Savannah, GA. Its primary function will be to export poultry.
The building has been designed to provide Americold maximum flexibility in their cold storage options. Four freezer spaces will provide the opportunity to store product anywhere from -10° to 55°. Its quick-freeze system will allow the facility to blast two million pounds of chicken per day once the facility achieves its maximum build.
Primus’s in-house automation design team provided conveyance options that will assist Americold in achieving its speed-to-market goals.
Additional features include:
• 2-story office
• Quell fire protection system to ensure maximum coverage for the building height
• Frick’s TCP concrete
• ALTA Expert refrigeration units
This project achieved LEED Silver certification. Primus’s in-house sustainability coordinator worked closely with the design team to ensure the best use of LEED points.
