CASE STUDY details
Primus is providing design-build-automate services on this complex poultry processing renovation and expansion project. The scope of work includes:
- Expanded and increased production operations
- New VRT freezer, refrigeration room and controls room
- Configuration of conveyor from finished product lines to accommodate longer product queuing into and out of the VRT
- Equipment upgrades for four production lines
- One new production line
- New shipping dock and shipping office
- Conversion of part of the existing freezer to perishable finished goods storage to a new ASRS high density storage system with robot layer picking for order fulfillment
- New ASRS freezer warehouse to accommodate increased frozen storage volumes
- Additional frozen stack off area between the VRT and freezer with robot palletizing
Mar-Jac is currently processing 2.2 million chickens per week. Once this project is complete, they will be able to process 3.4 million chickens per week, a 65% increase in production.
