VersaCold Logistics is an international cold storage and chilled chain logistics provider based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Due to growth in the Houston port and surrounding areas, VersaCold decided to expand its LaPorte facility. Primus Builders was selected to provide turn-key design-build services for the project.
The 88,000 SF expansion entailed enlarging the existing -10° freezer, refrigerated dock and deslatting areas; five new blast cells were also added. A new engine room was necessary to support the expansion. The project was designed for 40’ clear and features a shrink-compensating concrete slab and a Sarnafil mechanically-fastened roof system.
