Kmart

The Kmart Corporation selected Primus to renovate an existing facility in Newnan, Georgia. The scope included demolition of approximately 160,000 SF of an existing enclosed truck concourse and converting it into an open-yard shipping and receiving operation to handle the 52’ trailers.

Primus installed 120 new, state-of-the-art dock positions with break-out doors, automatic dock boards, communication systems, trailer ventilation, lighting packages and vehicle restraints.

This project increased shipping productivity and limited the need for Kmart to move over-the-road cargo with yard trucks. In order to keep Kmart at full operation, the work was staged into seven phases to allow the facility to maintain inventory in its stores.
