H.E.B. Grocery Company

H.E. Butt Grocery Company (H.E.B.) is one of the largest grocery chains in the United States with stores throughout Texas and in Mexico. Market growth in southern Texas coupled with high transportation costs led the company to build a new facility in Weslaco, Texas. They selected Primus Builders to provide design-build services on the project.

The 400,000 SF facility is designed as a cross-dock and has 82 dock positions. Building features include a shrink-compensating slab, a Sarnafil roof system, and an ESFR sprinkler system. The facility is tempered to 80°F for the comfort of HEB associates and utilizes insulated metal panels on the exterior of the building for energy efficiency.
